I've been without a computer for about a month, but late last week I finally figured out how to make my smart phone a functioning internet browsing device. I started following artists on sound cloud and found this gem, mixed by DJ Mosca. I think you'll like it. Jack in day house!
Bibio caught my attention about a year and a half ago when I first heard his infectious lo-fi funk song "Jealous of Roses" (right click and "save as" for free download.) Since then, I've been exploring this soloists pretty extensive catalogue which only dates back to 2005, and blends a mysterious mixture of folk and electronica. On March 29, he released his latest album "Mind Bokeh," which this song is taken from. Not only is it the closing track to the record, but in my opinion, the best one.
I found out about Daley late last year when he appeared as a guest on this Gorillaz track. I've been a fan of Gorillaz since their 2001 self-titled release, which has become a classic, but it wasn't until I heard this acoustic take of "Doncamatic" recorded live for BBC's Radio 1 that this track really struck my attention.
There are a couple of voices in the music industry that give me a boner, and I think Daley's soulful vocals do just that for me. I'm looking forward to hearing more from this R&B newcomer.
